What's more interesting than reviewing Paris Couture Week Runway? Reviewing the street style looks caught in between shows. This year, these fashion icons have set the bar high for summer style, with many new takes on old trends. Take note from these street style superstars, as we disect the top 20 looks photographed from Paris Couture Week.
I love a good sweatpant. The fact that these pants are super comfy and stylish at the moment gives new life to lazy girl fashion. Satin is the latest fabric of the season and satin track pants are the easiest way to pull off this comfy chic look. They are super accessible as well. Just recently, I was able to buy a pair on sale at Target for $8!
Denim on denim has been huge over the past few years, but this year we have seen many different takes in donning this look. I love this denim Prada bag paired with zippered up denim. Sasha Luss finishes off her look with a grey duster, round sunnies, and of course, silver locks.
This look is so simple, it gives a new meaning to casual-cool. Carlotta Oddi is rocking those Bernie Sanders inspired Balenciaga botties. Her midi length dress is perfectly on trend and topped off with aviators and jean jacket for this effortlessly cool look.
This summer is all about the dad shorts. This model teams them up with black knee high socks and a sheer bodysuit for a little glamor.
Of course Chiara Ferragni is wearing Dior! Her sheer, embroidered Dior dress looks perfect in the Paris sunlight. This street style queen matches her red pout to the floral details found in her skirt. So cute! Her light pink mirrored sunglasses give this look it's final touch.
Lauren Santo Domingo is spotted looking posh and polished in this polka dotted dress. Polka dots have been seen popping up more and more this season, accented with just the right pop of color from her structured bag. This editor is no stranger to major fashion moments between shows.
I have always been a fan of animal prints, whether it is in style or not. This Dior ensemble looks so chic paired with this pair of Oxfords and can easily transition into evening with a pair of heels.
Yoyo Cao has found the most perfect mom jeans! I love how she takes this simple look (distressed denim and a t-shirt) and transforms it with her clutch, heels, and Chanel jacket. Bravo!
The accessories make this entire look work. Justine Lee is Chanel everything with her frilled blouse and logo earrings. Clear, colored lenses are the shades of the summer and this light blue color looks best with her silver and white ensemble.
It's handkerchief season! This accessory is the easiest way to spice up any outfit. Antonia Petkovic wears hers tied up like a choker, but it also works knotted as a scarf.
White on white is everything this summer. This monochromatic look is so classic with this Chanel jacket. I love how the shades of white and cream clash to add some dimension to this style.
Jean skirts!! They are replacing shorts this summer with light, distressed skirts seen everywhere this summer. The Chanel jacket makes another debut with Giorgia Tordini sporting a dark tweed style.
Sheer is here! This sheer top gives a twist to the trend with it's patch detailing. Together, the ensemble feels very 90's inspired.
It's all about the sleeve! This is the year of the sleeve with the trend moving from exposed shoulders, to one shoulder, and landing here with the balloon sleeve. The 80's are making a comeback with the exaggerated shoulder becoming the power move of 2017.
To do list: Find this moto jacket. A nice leather jacket should be on top of your list in terms of investment clothing items. Something unique like this jacket seen above is especially worth the extra cash!
All hail Adowa Aboah! This fashion it girl is rocking this fanny pack. Kendall Jenner among numerous other top models are taking this trend to the high streets. The British model pairs her accessories with an iridescent slip dress.
This look is a new take on an old favorite. A classic look never goes out of style: A satin button up with a designer belt and straight trouser. To be honest, it has never looked better.
Lauren Santo Domingo seen once again proving her veteran street style status. Her color blocked clutch and leather dress layered over a complementary blue blouse makes for an unlikely combo feels very fresh.
These dresses by Valentino are worn well by Chriselle Lim and Aimee Song. The ultra feminine vibe is accessorized with matching clutches and chunky heels.
Saving the best for last. This over-the-top cape is courtesy of Monique Lhuillier and is accessorized with Miu Miu shoes fit for a princess. Because more is always more.
What can we take away from these fashionistas? Denim is always a good idea, and so is Dior. But for the rest of us, dressing for style doesn't mean running out to buy the latest trend. Invest in clothing and accessories that are meaningful and find a way to update he old! Being able to diversify your looks while working with the same closet defines good taste.
